After 350 prototypes brewed, how do we make sure we are making significant impact with every brew? With four years of product development and building the foundation for future flavor creation we can say that we have really put in the effort to learn as many details as possible on how every aspect of the brewing process affects to the end product. When brewing prototypes we can divide them to two segments: One is the development of the base recipes like our Gose, Saison or California Common, and the other is testing a wide range of flavoring, how does the ingredients work in a beer and what beer style might be the best for the specific flavor. For example the California Common we originally created for @kimjoelmikkola ’s @inarihki. It took quite a few rounds to make it perfect but after brewing the production batch for Kim, we have made several version of the beer like Kentucky Common, Rice Common (normal and flavored Jasmin rice version), Imperial Common, West Coast Common (in the...

How the taste of beer differs depending on which point in the brewing process the hops are added? Let’s have a look! 🍻 The taste of beer can differ significantly depending on when the hops are added during the boiling or fermentation process. Hops are an essential ingredient in beer, adding bitterness, aroma, and flavor. However, the timing of when hops are added can greatly impact the final taste of the beer. If hops are added early in the boiling process, they will contribute more bitterness to the beer. This is because the alpha acids in the hops will react with the starches in the malt, creating a more bitter flavor. This is typically used in beers that are meant to be hoppy and bitter, such as West Coast IPAs. On the other hand, if hops are added later in the boiling process, they will contribute more aroma and flavor to the beer. This is because the oils and aroma compounds in the hops will be more concentrated, adding more flavor to the beer. This is typically used in beers...

What ingredients we use in brewing? 💧 🌾 🍻 The four main ingredients used in brewing beer are water, malt, hops, and yeast. Water is the most important ingredient in beer, yes you read it right, water. It makes up the majority of the final product and can greatly affect the flavor and character of the beer. Different types of water have different mineral compositions, which can impact the final product. Our water comes from a spring near by the factory and it goes through extensive process by Anora to be suitable for their production. We make several modifications to the water in our brewery to make sure every characteristic of each beer style is achieved. Malt is the next most important ingredient in beer. It provides the sugars that yeast ferments to create alcohol. There are many different types of malt, each with its own unique characteristics. Our base malt is Golden Promise from @simpsonmalt which has the flavor profile we love and also gives the perfect color of our yellow and...
